Montesano Bros. was built brick by brick with hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of support. Long before we became the heavy construction company we are today, we were a small family business working long days, nights, and often weekends trying to build something meaningful.
While the Montesano brothers were out in the field doing the work, there were incredible women behind the scenes making it possible for that work to happen.
The wives and mothers in our lives held things together at home while we chased the dream of building this company. They raised families, kept households running, and supported us through the ups and downs that come with growing a business from the ground up. Their patience, strength, and belief in us made all the difference.
We are incredibly grateful for the women who stood by us through those early years.
But there is one woman whose role in the growth of Montesano Bros. deserves special recognition.
The Partner Behind the Growth
Toniann, Dom’s amazing wife, didn’t just support the business from the sidelines. She stepped in and became a driving force behind its growth.
While the Montesano brothers were out managing jobs and building the company in the field, Toniann became the backbone of the operation. She answered phones, handled paperwork, made sure invoices went out and payments came in, and even stepped into sales when needed.
She did whatever needed to be done to keep the business moving forward.
Toniann wasn’t just helping. She was facilitating the growth of the company. She brought organization, strategy, and a calm voice of reason when decisions needed to be made. Her ability to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes allowed the company to expand and take on bigger opportunities.
And while Toniann always carries a cheerful disposition, don’t let that fool you. She is a tough cookie.
Holding Down the Fort
Back in those early days, our building in New Rochelle was where we housed our equipment and ran our operations. Like many small businesses trying to grow, protecting our equipment and keeping things secure was important.
So we installed a security system.
Not the kind with cameras and alarms.
Ours had four paws and went by the name Sarge.
Toniann and Sarge held down the fort while the Montesano brothers were out working. She kept the phones ringing, the paperwork organized, and the business moving forward, while Sarge made sure everything stayed exactly where it belonged.
It might sound simple now, but those moments represent the heart of what Montesano Bros. was built on. Family, trust, and people showing up for each other when it mattered most.
Toniann left a lasting mark on Montesano Bros.; she was far more than an employee, she was a mentor, strategist, and true partner who helped shape the company in countless ways. She also welcomed countless people in with open arms and truly made them feel like part of the family.
A Company Built by More Than Just the Work
Today, Montesano Bros. has grown into a respected heavy construction company. But the real foundation of this business wasn’t just built with machines and materials.
It was built with sacrifice, teamwork, and the unwavering support of the women who made it possible.
To the wives and mothers who supported us through long nights, early mornings, and busy weekends, thank you.
And to Toniann, who stepped in, helped guide the business, and played a huge role in its growth, we simply wouldn’t be the company we are today without you.
This company was built by many hands, and some of the most important ones were behind the scenes.
